TANK LOUIS CARTIER
Worn by Louis Cartier himself, the Tank wristwatch is a true classic in the world of fine watchmaking, debuting in 1919 and immediately establishing itself as a design icon. Inspired by the aerial silhouettes of combat vehicles, the Tank followed a design trajectory of modifying the circular watch face and integrating it into the line of the bracelet. From that inspiring, art deco original, the Cartier Tank watch design has evolved over time, adopting a variety of guises, all unmistakeably Cartier. This small model is based on the initial 1921 design revision, which slightly lengthened the case and became known as the Tank LC, or Tank Louis Cartier.
