The Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph Grey Quartz TPT is a remarkable timepiece that merges cutting-edge technology with unparalleled craftsmanship.

Light blue indicates the time functions—hours, minutes, and small seconds at 6 o’clock—while classic blue highlights the date. Orange is reserved for the chronograph’s sweep seconds hand, as well as the 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers. Yellow refers to the winding mechanism, and purple is used for the split-seconds hand to eliminate any confusion. The case is crafted from satin-finished titanium with micro-blasted, polished details. Titanium is also used for the engraved caseband plate and chronograph pushers, while the lemon-yellow Quartz TPT rapid-winding pusher adds a striking contrast.

The model is powered by the skeletonized RMAC4 automatic movement, developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. It features the latest-generation split-seconds mechanism and a newly engineered column wheel. A new “gearbox” system has also been integrated into the crown, allowing the wearer to toggle between winding (W), date adjustment (D), and time-setting (H) simply by pressing the crown. The patented rapid-winding pusher, in addition to traditional and automatic winding, allows the barrel to be fully wound with 125 presses—delivering a 60-hour power reserve (when the chronograph is inactive). This innovative and tactile feature was notably complex to develop due to the high torque involved and was rigorously tested through thousands of activation cycles.

Engineered for extreme conditions, the timepiece has passed a series of demanding trials, including shock and drop simulations, waterproof testing, magnetic field resistance, and accelerated 10-year aging trials across all functions. With a high-frequency balance operating at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour), the RMAC4 ensures superior timekeeping accuracy over extended durations, enabling stopwatch precision to 1/10th of a second. The result is a technically advanced, resilient chronograph built for both performance and endurance.
